An acquintance has informed me that he just ordered a new car.
One that looks really familiar for some reason, it's a US spec Fiesta ST, Oxford White with no options except the sunroof.
MINE WAS ALONE, MINE WAS SPECIAL.

Steal the turbo off his car. Put it on yours. Go faster.

He ordered a U.S. spec Fiesta ST? Why would you order a car with jaffa'd headlights?
The indicator bulb is still orange though which throws a 'yolk' effect around as it reflects off the shiny unit but a chromed bulb (still flashes amber) eliminates that and you get a clean crisp look.

Haha. Another FiST showed up in my work parking garage last week. I know the feeling (as unreasonable as it is). At least theirs is MO to my OW :P
Another coworker is trading in his 335 coupe for one in a month or so...then there'll be 3 of us.
They're breeding.

Because eventually we will be moving back to 'Murica and if we got the fancy 3-door we wouldn't be able to bring them home!

That makes sense then (though, sorry, I wasn't referring to three or five doors just the jaffa and yolk effect of the indicators in the headlamps).
Are you both U.S. citizens then?

Well the 3 door gets the nice lights! And yeah, we've got a bunch of 'Muricans in the area.

Oh I didn't know there was a difference with the 3 and 5 door styles of ST. We only get the ST in the 3 door format but there is a headlamp difference with the ST1 getting regular headlamps
and the ST2 and ST3 getting Halogen projector headlamps with LED Daylight Running Lights.

Yep, the US only gets the 5-door with the ugly lights.

I wonder. If you bought and installed the Euro lights on your Fiesta would anyone notice/care when you brought it back to the States?

The VIN would tattle on him.

Well I mean it's already a U.S. car with a U.S. VIN. So will they recognize Euro lights on an otherwise U.S.-spec car, or would he be able to sneak them under the radar? I'm not convinced the person at customs would have the Fiesta-specific knowledge to realize the lights had been changed.

ah, I see what you meant. Would probably work.
